You ever feel like you have a problem and your not quiet sure how to assess the situation. Well if you've ever had that feeling than you know how I am feeling right now. Trust me, this is not a feel sorry for me kinda deal it's just a lack of singular focus. I really like Fantasy a lot, I finally have a competitive army in the Dark Elves and I like the models and the selection of HQ, troop, special and rare's, so I am pretty happy over all with the army. My only issue is that I have been bumped to an off shift for work and I move in three months.

I know your wondering... and if not I'm going to tell you anyway, why the lack of focus... partially because of this move and off shift. The guys at the LFGS play every Friday night, it's great, you can count on someone being there every Friday night, well now that I am on swings Fridays aren't as solid as they once were. This is not a major deterrent as many of the guys will play during the week, just have to find a schedule to fit people in. The move has at me too, where I am moving to they primarily play 40k so it's like I kinda want to knock the dust off so I don't go up there trying to get a ward save on my carnifex!

This brings me to the last point'ish if there is one, I really enjoy rambling apparently, at least that's what my wife tells me, I asked awhile back or stated rather what motivates you to paint?! It could be anything from seeing someone else's painted up army, being inspired by new models, etc, well I have found a new reason to paint... the want to not be part of the same bio mass.

As I was perusing the blog'o'sphere I couldn't help but notice one of our local gamer peep's was painting a Tyranid army... lo and behold it's damn close to the same color scheme I have with my Tyranids, only it looks better! Thanks to the fellas over at Hog's of War where they did a tutorial on how to paint Tyranids using just about 3 color s and a few washes people can easily paint good looking Tyranids in less time than it took me to paint mine, so of course what does any sane person do at that point?? Correct, I grab my Tyranids and start trying to find a different color scheme that still looks good and is different from the other guy's!! I think I was successful, tell me what you think!

Killzone picks!

Ok, so last off I was rambling about my Sniper Lords and how they cant come out and play but... I still want to use my Eldar, mainly because I dont see anyone else using them, and why not right. I have some bikes I was already converting. Now that I dont play Eldar as a competitive army I have a use for the models!

I still need to do some dinking and putting together and adding some things but I think with some of my homework done I can now get modeling done as well. Hopefully it wont be to long before I get a few updates on the jetbikes. Also, I havent been able to find out what people are typically playing at for Killzone, so I put together a 250ish point list, I can always break it down if need be.

If anyone has any ideas on point levels for sure leave a comment and give me the heads up I would appreciate it.

Plus what are you all playing and if you have a link to your site showing off your Killzone team hit me with it, Id love to take a look! Time for me to head out, wish I had some pics... lets see what I got in here...

You ever come across something that really peaks your interest, you know that new games system that people are raving about, or the new version of the game your playing or the next big thing on the blogsphere only to find out that it was posted 2 months ago? Or that it was from last year? That is the world I live in. It seems that every time I find something super cool or interesting Ive missed the boat, or "band wagon". There's no blame, I am not making excuses and even if the band wagons left for wherever it goes Ill still try and jump on.

Here's the dilly, I was reading Strictly Average's blog and came across this thing called Killzone Blitz. So I hunt and search for what it is because it seems as though its a small unit type skirmish game using 40k figures. To me that means lots of room for conversion, the idea that you can play any army you want really because you only need a few models to invest in, plus if your a slow painter *points finger at myself* then it allows me to even get a crew painted and done!

Either way, after a little more research I came to find the originator... here is what I found...

Strictly Stalking: On Blogging Part VII

So after reading the interview I was siked, there is rules, scenarios, you name it, it's been thought of... so of course I skip to the part for the FoC so to speak. I kept see'ing orks and some more orks and Brents uber counts as Space Puppies so I was like, hmmm what do I have that I could use that I havent seen alot of...

Eldar! With a quick skim I saw that you are allowed to have walkers with armor less than 33, sweet I have 2 heavily converted Wraith Lords, plus I had other idea's for a Killzone team with Eldar. I did read a bit more and found that per the rules you cannot have a creature with toughness more than 5. Needless to say, I was a touch bummed, but I still have ideas on my Eldar Killzone team and for S & G's I am going to post pics of my 2 Wraithlords, one is still in need of highlights the other is a wip still... Ill have some sort of Eldar Killzone team pics later but for now, I leave you with the Sniper Lords!

Marrow Knights

I started a bit back as far as trying to have something different than every other DE army out there but really inspiration hasn't hit me as far as conversions go, not at least for the spearmen and crossbow men or any of the DE units for that fact... I did find some really cool idea's for "counts as" crossbow men and spearmen but both of the "counts as" are from Privateer Press and not sure how that would float, plus at the cost it's not really economical at the present time. And in the grand scheme of things I will be moving in the next 4 months and I am not 100% sure how the WHFB scene is up where I am moving. So ill stick with what I got for now before I start dropping benjamins on a counts as army that may not get any play heh.

What I did find was a color scheme that I liked that was unique and not like all the other purple and black DE armies out there. It was a few posts back, I had a spearmen with the bone armor, well now it's time to take a look at a Cold One Knight or Marrow Knight as there known in the House of Ados, take a look, tell me what you think, changes to be made etc, LATE!

Although I will say, I would prolly paint the cloth red on future Knights, not the black that's there now.

The eye's have it!!

So it's been a long time since my last post, I dont really have a good excuse, well at least one that is feasable for not posting in over a month and Ive actually got a decent amount of work done for my dark elves. Here's the dilly, not a lot of work in comparison to some of the painting freaks at my FLGS but a lot for me. But this post is going to be directed towards something more specific...

Ive been painting for about two years now and really only about 6 months that I have tried to become a better painter by looking at blending, highlighting, shading, different ways to paint weapons and armor etc, the point is this, when it comes to painting the eye's on the mini's Ive either failed miserably or just avoided it all together leaving giant flesh holes where eye's should be. But alas, this is not a post of defeat, this is a post of triumph, and maybe's its just me but I think the eye's on the two mini's im going to show you turned out freaking fantastic, the best eye's I have painted EVAH!!

Credit where credit is due, I have learned more about painting and basing with four conversations then I had with trial and error on my own for months and months. Id like to thank The Master Manipulator(esno). I have come leaps and bounds in my painting thanks to what he thought was probably just passing conversation, thanks brotha.

Here is a model prior to reading MMesno tutorial on eye's, then the next two models are using the method, if you struggle with eye's you should check it out, I have a link to his blog here on my site. Oh and after the first model turned out with good eye's I immediately did a second mini to make sure it wasn't just a fluke, it wasn't, the method works!

Yes, these are also newly painted mini's from the War Hydra crew... which will be posted later with the War Hydra herself!

Battle Report: Dark Elves vs Skaven 1250

So for more than one reason I think I am going to try a hybrid approach of storytelling but in the sequence of events of the battle. Check this battle report; I think it turned out pretty good.

Let’s start with the lists or approximately what we had then move into the story...

House of Ados represented by:

HQ: lvl 2 Sorc (Madious)

HQ: Hag BSB with ASF banner (Annorus)

Core: 19 spearmen FC

Core: 10 Xbows

Special: 15 Black Guard, FC with Banner of Murder

Special: 15 Executioners, FC

Prince Rayle continued to get reports back from his scouts that the rats had been coming out of their holes and starting to gather near one of the trade routes. The Prince had requested an audience with his father and he would not be able to quell the rats but knew of someone that would do well in his place. After sending a runner to fetch his younger sister Madious, a budding sorcerer following in the footsteps of her mother a renowned fire witch, the Prince knew that she would be able to handle the task, plus the idea of burning rats amused the Prince.

Off the young Fire Witch went with her compliment of Black Guard courtesy of her father and the rest of her raiding party courtesy of the Prince, and to her surprise she was met with a contingent of executioners that were led by Hag Annorus, her cruelty was second to none(the similarity to my wife’s name is purely accidental). Hags were to be feared, even amongst the soulless and viscous. Hags were well known for their delight in the cruel and unusual.

(Deployment)

Off to the north the rats were spotted, with no indecision Fire Witch Madious sent the war hydra to the east and a compliment of crossbow men to the west, with spearmen, Executioners, Black Guard and crossbow men to hold the center. To the east opposite the Hydra were masses of little rats, across from the center to the north was plague infested skaven, rats with spears and a sorcerer, slave rats and to the northeast was skaven with halberds. There was also some whirring contraption to the west, a spinning wheel of death it seems.

The crossbow men to the west pelted the slaves with arrows to little effect, the crossbow men front and center launched their arrows at the plague rats, again with little effect, the Hydra charges straight north towards the masses of rats, with Madious ordering the forces in the center to march forward! Muttering an incantation, fire appears from her hands and launches towards the spear rats with the opposing sorcerer, rat flesh immediately starts to burn but their unit seems undaunted and reinforced by their leader and large banner.

The rats undaunted by the burning flesh of their kin march forward gnashing their teeth, scraping along the ground, spears and halberds at the ready. The plague rats rushing forward in a battle frenzied state, frothing at the mouth, pustules bursting as they rush forward! The wheel of doom turns west and hums out of sight. The sorcerer rat Turntailious does a small dance and whips his cane around and a green cloud of noxious fumes surrounds the Black Guard felling half the unit, but the Black Guard are stubborn to a fault and continue forward.

The crossbows to the west let loose their arrows again into the skaven slaves killing a few and the crossbows in the center fire their arrows at the plague rats killing two. The Hydra continues north awaiting the fight with the mass of small rats while again the army pushes north towards the tide of spears and halberds. Madious spews forth fiery death again into the spear rats bringing more death and burning flesh to Clan Ratatouille, undaunted the rats and their sorcerer push forward.

The Doom wheel moves forward shooting into the crossbows killing a few, the plague rats continue their relentless march forward, the storm vermin position themselves for a charge into the Black Guard and Turntailious starts to do his dance. A flash of destruction veers past the Fire Witch’s unit then in an unexpected turn the skaven sorcerer starts to glow then in an instant there’s an explosion and only rat bits and tufts of fur lie where two thirds of the unit used to reside. With the cause of the explosion unknown the unit turns tail (literally) and runs, their mighty banner and Turntailious in tow. This would spell the end for the skaven uprising. …”spell the end” heh …

The Hydra finally charges into combat with the mass rats killing some but not able to rid all of them. Cross bows to the west aim and shoot at the doom wheel, the arrows ricochet off the wheel causing no damage. The crossbows front and center let loose again into the plague rats puncturing lungs and boils killing five and await the oncoming charge. Black Guard set up for the charge from the storm vermin and the Executioners greedily await the flank of the plague rats. Lastly Madious lets loose another volley of firery death this time into the plague rats, nothing like burnt plague rats and boiling flesh in the morning!

There was to be no rally for Turntailious who would not be seen again this battle but had done more damage and destruction to his own then to anyone else. At this point all the melee’s start to kick off with the storm vermin charging the Black Guard and the plague rats charging into the Executioners instead of the crossbow unit, trying to avoid a flank charge, and the doom wheel charging the western most crossbow men. This would be a bloody show where dark elves could be found howling with glee chopping and gashing their rat counterparts. The Executioners, with Annorus at the lead cleaving plague rat after plague rat until there was none. The Black Guard in a dizzying blur of Halberds swinging and thrusting, puncturing and hacking the Storm Vermin to small pieces. The lone bright spot for Clan Ratatouille was when the doom wheel plowed into the west crossbow men killing the entire unit in a single charge, the wheel smashing and pulping the crossbow men in their tracks. At this point, the dark elves of House of Ados were cleaning rat guts off their armor reveling in their victory, Madious cackled at the sight of dead vermin strewn throughout the courtyard, “today was a good day”.

Hero of the Match: Turntailious, for blowing up his own unit then running off the board!

Zero of the Match: The War Hydra, who accomplished killing 3 rat bases and that’s it.

So it's been awile since my last post and Id probably feel bad if I was worried I had some sort of following so no worries for me there!! Really though, I have been busy with work, school, kids, life blah blah excuse, but I have managed to finish off painting, basing my executioners and my hag BSB. Its crazy too, ive played 6 games since my last post of the Ork nob bikers, maybe ill post a bat rep or 2, only bad thing is no pic's, ill have to work on that for future battle reports. Still not sure on accurate report of story type report... and its painting the Hydra next...

But we are what have you done for me lately kind of people and I havent done anything so lets take a look at my killy emo elves!

*edit* its sad too, I think there taking a back seat for a bit while I try new stuff for 1500 point list's...

Ork bike conversions, choppers! Part 2

Right, what does wheels have to do with Dark elves?! Nothing at all. Not to fear though, I am currently working on my executioners and believe it or not I think ill have the whole unit painted and based by the end of the week. So I will get to my darkies soon but wanted to show you a complete unit, so what in the dark world of elves does wheels have to do with anything?

I tell you what though, and I hate to say this out loud but Brent mentioned possibly trading some of his dark elves for something and sure enough I was already in the midst of a self imposed question. Here's the deal, I spent a lot and I mean a lot of time on my custom nob bikers for the Ork army I no longer have or plan on playing. My dilemma, should I let the bikes sit in my closet collecting dust and keep my hard work or trade them to someone who has an Ork army and would enjoy them, use them, and paint them. Either way, here are 3 of 6. Ill post pics of the other 3 in a day or so, hope you enjoy!

OMG Spearman Saga

Here's the dilly, it's not really a saga so to speak, it just feels like one. You ever have that nagging feeling like something isnt right?? And no, its not your significant other, that feeling like your not quite content with a decision you've made... That has been my nagging feeling. I like my dark elves alot, and when I finished my spearmen unit, well almost finished it, I was semi happy... but something was missing. I wasnt quite happy with the color scheme, it just seemed a bit flat to me.

I wont lie, after seeing Brents footdar and the conversions that were done I really had issues with my army being just another vanilla dark elf army and paint scheme. I wracked my brain trying to find either a way to convert my elves or possibly a somewhat unique color scheme that is within my means. Needless to say I don't have the means to do a complete conversion for my army so I had to settle into finding or thinking of a twist for my dark elves.

Believe it or not, I found a scheme that I liked, I even used MM(esno)'s tutorial on basing to come up with a base that I liked as well. Without further ado, tell me what ya think...

Spearmen and a bag of chips!

So if I wanted to make my spearmen even better what would I need to do? I could get a full command, ok but that doesnt equal a bag of chips, especially the potato skins, bacon and chedder, but if I did want to better my spearmen... wait I have it, an assassin!

As a quick side note that has nothing to do with Fantasy, we recently had a student come through and he would pronounce words... not necessarily correct, but his best miscue had to be when he would pronounce assembly as ... ass - embly. We let it go on for way to long but it was to funny to stop it.

Back to the task at hand. My idea for my assassins is to paint them so that they blend with whatever unit they are assigned to. Not sure if its me or if its the quick side note but it seems there are lots of words with ass- as the first portion of the word. Right right, so as the title states how to improve spearmen, I painted up my assassin to blend with them... tell me what you think.

So here it is, our build up is about to start, we officially have our match up's for the month of August. My two match up's are Brent from Strictly Average (beastmen) and Evil Homer and his Demons. What better way to run my Dark Elf army, or any army from what I understand, then to run with Spears. I got spears for yo face! No really though, I have 19 spear-men as one block and... I have most of em painted, uhh the reason there not all painted is NOT because Im lazy, although that seems to be the answer often enough, but the real reason is because I thought I would only run them with 15... then realized I better run them in a 20 man block, but that was after the fact. Ok, so this post really isnt about who I am playing but that I have models painted, so lets get to it...

Oh, by the way, it figures that after I take pictures and load them up that a post on MM(esno) that he would put up a post about how he takes "better" pictures, ok he didn't say his pics were better but I have hate in my jealousy... but you know ill check out the post after I get done with this!

Thanks tho for real...MM(esno) helped me figure out how to shade/blend much better than what I was doing.

Time for change

Well, its that time. I have been snooping around other blogs and with the addition of the new template design feature I figured I should update my blog, plus I was getting jealous! Change is good though, it keeps things both current and fresh. I will have some up coming pictures of Dark Elf Spearmen, got 15 done, and then realized I was going to run them in a group of 20, so there is 5 unpainted.

Also while lurking around I saw that Gauthic got his hands on a light box, I been meaning to do it for awhile now, guess I should just go to MM(esno) and find out how he does them. Anything to help the pictures the better... well unless your not a good painter, hmmm maybe I should stick to the dark and hard to see pic's, oh well gotta learn some how. Wonder if MM(esno) does requests for tutorials... ill have to find out.

We are still doing the Fantasy build up and I have a 1249 list, it looks like this... comments and feedback are welcome.

Quick aside, finally got the wifey to agree to the 75$ Fantasy Rule book, so I run up to my FLGS and to my surprise... all are gone. Hope I didn't miss a window of opportunity, but they should get more in soon, hope my luck holds.

Fantasy 8th edition hype

So with the release of the 8th edition Warhammer Fantasy rule book the FLGS is all a buzz. Our shop which is predominantly a 40k group dabbeling in Fantasy seems to have enough interest in the Fnatasy side of things that it might stick around this time, for awile.

If Fantasy if going to stick around then painting needs to get a move on. As already stated in other posts here on the site, I am not known for speed painting, well painting in any regards really but at a minimum I am at least trying to get some paint on models so as not to field another primer army! Believe it or not I have been working on a few units in my Dark Elf Army aka The House of Ados's army.

Some of my favorite units in the game are the Cold One Knights, or in the case of Ados, my Marrow Knights. Both a hard hitting and somewhat resilient unit made it hard not to include them in my 1250 army list, plus the models are some of my favorites, but as with all things, reading is only so fun before we want to see pics!!

It's finally come time... time for what you ask? Were playing con again, not to worry we'll get to fantasy shortly im sure, and I actually have a con army, well at least 400 points or so to play with. If you hold onto your stuff long enough the circle of games gets back around to it, and that's where were at now at our FLGS and im siked about it!

Now the other cool thing I like alot about con is that its a skirmish game, so low model count which means that my itch to paint is made easier. I dont have to paint whole squads I can paint individual models which for me seems like a task more within reach of my skills at the present time.

Ill be playing Devourers of Vile Tis as my con army... my army looks a bit like this...

As Prince Rayle crossed the threshold of the room known as the Scourge, the place where Lord Nadan resides, he revisited his recent encounter with the hated bark eaters. The whirling halberds, the crushing of wood elf flesh beneath the feet of the cold rider squad known as the Marrow Knights, brought a sly smile to the prince. He was very satisfied with his first campaign into the outer reaches of his father’s domain. So this time, this step into the room was with a confidence he didn’t have last time he spoke with his father. With a brisk step Prince Rayle stepped into his father’s den, stopped the appropriate 7 feet from his father’s throne and waited quietly to be acknowledged.

After what seemed an eternity Lord Nadan broke from his thought and peered at Prince Rayle with his good eye and oddly enough it seemed even the grey lifeless eye was staring. With a grimace Lord Nadan asked a simple question, “Were you successful?” That seemed an odd question knowing that the lord already knew we had won, why the question of success. Lord Nadan was not only an adept fighter but a stout tactician so this seemingly simple question was anything but. The prince somewhat twisted in his thought process as how to answer, in at least what seemed as confidence spoke a simple answer to a simple question, “yes my lord, we were victorious.” The grimace seemed to deepen into a scowl, now the prince was starting to get worried, this mental joust was draining, but the prince was not one to back down. “Sire, you have question of our conquest?” In what seemed a flash and blur the Lord was less than a foot from the prince, striking squarely into the lower portion of the jaw, immediately dropping the prince to the ground. As Lord Nadan looked down upon his prince, his son, he reminded him the order of things, “young foolish son, young arrogant prince, you do not ask questions of me, you answer when you are asked a question.” As the blood trickled from the prince’s lip Lord Nadan turned and nodded at the Tower Guard in the corner to his right, then lord Nadan disappeared into the back of his room.

Tower Guard Rend was a well known and respected leader of one of Lord Nadan’s Grail Guard regiments. Prince Rayle knew Rend from back when they trained together in the Onyx Temple, the known training grounds, barracks and meeting place of the Grail Guard. Also serving together for 100 of the 200 year commitment to Malekith brought the two face to face with death and a brotherhood of commitment that bring 2 dark elves as close to friends as this dark race allows. So great were both the Princes and Rend’s deeds of brutality, cunning and commitment that Rend was rewarded with the rank of Tower Master and Prince Rayle was rewarded one of the highest accolades that can be bestowed by the Witch King, the Prince returned to his father’s domain with a coveted black dragon egg.

Tower Guard Rend approached Prince Rayle and told him, “you must have done something to make him pleased with the outcome, he wants to reward you with additional regiments and an opportunity to lead in his name once more.” Prince Rayle stood up and the 2 of them made haste to review the newly acquired assets of the druchii strike force.

Fantasy here and now

It's that time, Fantasy will have a new book out in July and the excitement is starting to build. Speaking of "build" it looks as though we will again have some sort of build up campaign. I am very excited about this. This is not a random roll like the 40k build up was and I already have an army itching to play! Its dark elf time! Funny enough the reason this blog started was because I wanted to write short stories for my Dark Elves and their mighty Prince Rayle. The start of which can be found here... http://houseofados.blogspot.com/2009/04/puzzle-pieces.html Granted there was only 3 stories but now that fantasy will be back in the forefront I can get re motivated to write more stories... we'll see.

It is that time again, I have tons of Dark Elves that are going to play in the near future and not to mention this itch to paint is crazy cool. So sure enough I have indeed started painting. I do need a bit, if not a huge head start to keep in the same state as some of these guy's and their painting prowess, looking at you Gauthic and Brent!

If you read any of the stories you know that there is 2 mainstays in my Dark Elf army, 1 Prince Rayle and 2 the black guard. So those are the first 2 things I started painting... and here they are...

Thats my start, 3 out of 15 and 1 Prince. At least its a start!

Ok, not really a war, actually I was really impressed with your kit bash Big Mek Saj. Looked very good, and yes, the proportions on it were very Orky, the wiring looked good too, nice touch. So anyway, I wanted a Big Mek as well and figured I would at least give it a shot.

The idea was I wanted a generator looking pack, so added the smoke pipe, but needed to have something that would produce a force field, so added the circular electronic looking thing on top, and to finish it off he needed a tool to work on things, so I gave him a welding type tool.

2 quick things, after looking at multiple other blogs, I can see that my pics look at little blue, so Ill work on that, although I think the last of these pic's look a bit blue. I did start painting him, took my time to paint the skin tone and the blending, figured an HQ that I created should have some effort put into the painting and attempt to take better pics, anyway here they are...

Coke or Pepsi

So my son comes home yesterday very proud of himself cause he got a new book at the bookfare. So of course I ask what book, he responds with Coke or Pepsi. Being the smartalic that I am I say Coke. He says cool, then starts a never ending river of questions. Its one of those would you rather books and he loves em!

Which is somewhat got me thinking, what Im getting at is, what would a 40k or warhammer Coke or Pepsi book sound like...

Would you rather be in a room full of magic players or rabid one eyed dogs?

Would you rather get slow played or drink hot motor oil?

Would you rather have 1000points of painted army or 2k of primered army?

Would you rather have painting skills or tactical skills? (I know I know, you all have both...)

Would you rather watch a chic flick with the significant other or gouge your eyes out with cow prodders?

Would you rather hang with your mother-in-law or work all day saturday?

I am sure there is tons and tons more of these type questions you could come up with, and if ya like leave em here so we can all get a laugh (all 3 of us!). Id figure more out, and I may just do that, but at this time its early and I have to get ready for work on a saturday... my mother-in-law is due in today...

No, my earlier post was not intended as a build up, I would hate to build up that type of anticipation only to disappoint! But really, this is some of my early modeling of tyranid wep's. Most of this is 2x twin linked devo's, when dakka fex's were the bomb diggidy and a dakka flyrant would put a hurt on ya with shooting, but I hated how small and timid the devourer's looked so I changed em, without further ado~

Talk about some wierd what the?!?! I started this new hobby, no worries, not one to replace 40k or any crazy talk, but something to do with the family thats cheap and entertaining, welcome Geocaching!

With the advent of all these smart phones with all their features, many new things that were out of reach all of a sudden are a click away, like GPS on your phone, which you can use for Geocaching. Back to the topic at hand, the reason I started this post, me and the fam were looking for our first cache and low and behold what do we find?! No, it wasnt the cache, we couldnt find that, but thats a different story, we spot a freaking albino squirrel!! No for real, check it out, pic's of proof!! ITS REAL!!

Casual Players UNITE!

What, no posts in like 2 years, now 2 posts in a day, something has definitely gone askew in the universe!

Again, over at Strictly Average a post about bully's, sportsmanship (found here.. http://strictlyaverage.blogspot.com/2010/04/compare-and-contrast-2-competative.html) and 2 examples of each brought up a question I had for myself, seeing how I am the casual player... Should casual players play in competitive tournaments? I say yes, but then again I believe in an atmosphere of competitive camaraderie, whereas allot of the people it seems only want to play the meta lists, the so called power gamers of miniature gaming. And while many will clearly state, if its in the rules or codex's its legal. Of course it is, and I for one am NOT calling cheese, ill play against any list fully accepting the fact that I have a good chance of losing.

I don't play nearly enough to encounter the different situations that many of us find ourselves in both in and out of games play. Those that play lots obviously have a much greater chance of being in a situation, dealing with it good or bad but learning what to do next time. Plus you throw on top of that the player that plays more or has been playing longer, probably... again probably knows the rules inside and out better, not to mention a greater overall knowledge base of the other codices. My response to Brent's post was this...

"Valid points all around, and yes I believe you are your own best advocate for righting the wrongs brought down upon you but... its also easy to fall victim to bullying if your not as versed in the 40k rules universe. I know I know, the answer is know the rules better but there are casual players that are quite sound in tactics and list building that may not know the rules as thourghly as many of the vets. So while yes I believe you should stand up for yourself, if you dont know better what are you supposed to do? Or is the trounament scene just not meant for casual players?"

Which brings me back to my original question... should casual players be playing in tournaments? I say yes, even if we get our collective butts handed to us, its a slow building up process. If you play long enough, even if not all the time, you will run into lots and lots of learning situations that will hopefully teach you and help you in the long run.

Ok, I am back, and even tho there is really either very few, and I mean myself and maybe the wife once in a while no followers I need to post to get in the habit. I wont lie, Brent over at Strictly Average and Jeff at Rule Of Gauth has me kinda inspired to get my blog off the ground and keep it going this time, plus with all the media out there its hard to find an excuse not to.

This is just a quick blurb about nothing really, but in the near future I will start showing a few different things. Ill be updateing my personal build up of 2k orks, building them, converting them and painting them. Ill be showing some of my old conversions good bad and the ugly. And finally some randomness from other blogs etc...
